Yamamoto Line Up 2009

  • release date:2018-07-31 Read the number:1103
  • YAMAMOTO’s Closed Cell Foams are all produced from 100% CR - Chloroprene Rubber, commonly known by most as NEOPRENE ® (DuPont Trade Mark)

Yamamoto's rubber is made from LIMESTONE - over 99.7% calcium carbonate. Compared to petroleum-based neoprene manufactured by others, Yamamoto neoprene is environment-friendly.
This point is also acknowledged for greater acceptance in the market of the medical products made of Yamamoto's neoprene rubber. The calcium carbonate foam is much cleaner and more eco-friendly even from the point of its manufacturing process because we don't use petroleum as the important resource. The quantity of heat for processing and producing their raw materials is one tenth of that being used for refining the petroleum equivalent neoprene products on the market and the generated heat is utilized for the nursery of eels which are utilized as a food resource in Japan. The source of heat generated is from the used tires and the electric power is generated from the several dams and power stations constructed downward the high mountain range. This special technology to convert the limestone to the neoprene rubber is considered environmentally clean and friendly in relation to how neoprene is traditionally manufactured.

In addition, YAMAMOTO Neoprene material is not derived from petrochemicals but from Limestone based on 99.7% calcium carbonate produced in the mountains, using the same material that used to make concrete. The reserves are estimated to be available for the next 3,000 years. Throughout the processing and production, only hydroelectric power is utilized, thereby minimizing the release of green house gases which are known to contribute to climate change. The waste heat created from manufacturing Yamamoto Neoprene material is used for the nursery of eels.

The material can be processed to its unique low viscosity at low temperature. Our neoprene manufacturing process is precisely controlled at below 0.5 centigrade with special compound to match limestone. The brief processing method of the limestone is to make acetylene gas spring up by burning the tire and to liquefy it by the chemical polymerization, then to dry it to chips.

The Japanese special technology to convert the limestone to the rubber is an advanced technology to help protect the Earth's environment."

    YAMAMOTO's MATERIAL LINE-UP
Yamamoto offers a complete line of high quality traditional and high-tech neoprene compounds, as well as various specialized materials, jerseys, coatings and also Protex hot melt tapes.
3-DIS (3-Dimensional Intelligent Skin) - The most up-to-date rubber technology is applied to all of Yamamoto’s foam compounds. In addition to the ‘Regular Carbon Black’ which is generally used in rubber production, we include a special ‘Spherical Carbon Black’  which uniformly disperses all force loads such as stretch/elongation & pressure compression, and also mix in ‘FE Polymer’, which prevents self-curing and reduces the typical ageing process (hardening) which affect most inferior grade rubber materials.
      RUBBER COMPOUND TYPES
STANDARD - QUAL. #38: Our most popular and widely used rubber compound, used for sports diving and all surface  water-sports, sport & orthopaedic supports, and of course many other uses. Type #38 has excellent all-round characteristics, high thermal insulation, suppleness and a good compression resistance for general diving.

SUPERLIGHT - QUAL. #39: The three key features of this rubber compound are, super-LIGHT, super-SOFT and super-STRETCH. Due to high degree of comfort achieved by using type #39, it is a good choice for surfing, triathlon and also spear fishing suits.

NEW – QUAL. #40:  This is a newly developed neoprene which has excellent modulus, strong skin surface and flexibility. Compared to #39, it offers better stretch and strength. It is a perfect choice for surfing, triathlon and other surface water sports.

HYPER COMPRESSED - QUAL. #88: Developed specifically for Dry Diving Suits, this is a ‘true’ compressed neoprene with optimum resistance against deep water high pressure compression and excellent cell recovery/memory, which due to the amount of gas trapped in the closed cell structure (unlike regular high density neoprene), continues to provide that all important insulation and body core thermal protection which is required by divers at high depths.

PRO - QUAL. #45: A very special rubber which is incomparably soft and stretchy, but with a remarkable  compound strength and resilience. It is a dynamic neoprene material which is used by the 'best and most serious' Spear-Fishing / Free-Diving companies around the world. Due to its unique properties #45 is also perfect for suit (wet or dry)  neck and wrist water-stop dry seals.

PRO X - QUAL. #50: A ‘higher density version’ of our type #45 PRO, which has superior compression resistance and superior cell recovery / memory.

     SPECIALIZED NEOPRENE MATERIALS
YAMAMOTO CORPORATION is without doubt the Neoprene Company that has always led the way with innovative and new concept Neoprene materials, and our quest to offer watersport enthusiasts with the ULTIMATE NEOPRENE materials continues …………..

    TITANIUM ALPHA:
The wetsuit concept of applying a metallic alloy barrier on neoprene surfaces to reduce body heat loss is one pioneered by Yamamoto Corp. back in the 80’s, and now “Titanium” is offered by most leading neoprene and suit manufacturers. However, Yamamoto’s TITANIUM ALPHA is still the most efficient insulating neoprene surface coating on the market and the one that in the water provides the best thermal protection and warmth.

    SCS - SUPER COMPOSITE SKIN:
Another new wetsuit concept pioneered by Yamamoto in the early 90’s and copied by many others. SCS is a ‘Low Surface Friction’ coating which allows suits to be made without an inner jersey lining, providing increased thermal insulation and extra comfort. SCS is used as the outer coating of Triathlon suits and competition swimwear, as due to its ‘Hydrophobic’ properties it improves swimming speeds by gliding through water more efficiently and with ZERO DRAG. Due to its ultra low surface friction, SCS coating improves neoprene’s surface abrasion resistance and strength, also making it ideal for use in neck and wrist water-stop dry seals.

    SCS-METAL:
We have applied our Titanium alloy concept to SCS low friction skin, and offer this ultra high thermally insulating coating in metallic SILVER, GOLD, COPPER and BLUE, which can be applied to Smoothskin, Meshskin, Sharkskin (WATERPILE) or open Cell surfaces.

SMS - SUPER MAGIC SKIN (Sandwich Neoprene):
Two outer layers of Neoprene sandwich a high stretch jersey in the middle, to create a combination of SKIN / jersey / SKIN which is very strong yet remains soft and stretchy. Various outer skin finishes and combinations such as Smooth, Mesh, Open Cell, SCS, SCS-Metal can be offered, and in a variety of thicknesses to suit the specific end use.

    MODETEC - 0.5mm Neoprene:
A thin 0.5mm Neoprene which can be combined with a variety of stretch jerseys and Titanium Alpha or SCS-Metal thermal coatings. This ultra thin lightweight neoprene is perfect for swimwear, warm water wetsuits, rash-vests and fashion wear. It can be lined on both sides, or as per the diagram below lined only on one side with SCS coatings on the reverse side.

SCS FABRIC BRS Standard & Stretch:
It is a revolutionary material for competition swimwear with a drag coefficient in the water of only 0.021 and with “Zero Buoyancy” to meet the competition swimwear. The incomparably high Hydrophilic properties improve swimming speed by gliding through more efficiently and with Zero Drag.

    AERO DOME- QUAL. #35 & #36:
These are ‘breathable’ perforated neoprenes in various combinations. We offer perforation hole sizes of 2mm Ø (#35) or 4mm Ø (#36).  Ideal for sport / medical supports, alpine clothing and shoe inserts.

MAGNETIC - QUAL. #82: A ‘Magnetized Neoprene’ which when used in medical & sport supports, stimulates and improves blood circulation and can greatly promote the recovery of muscle damaged due to sport injury.

    CORALTEX:
A transparent P.U. RESIN COATING is applied to various jerseys such as Nylon, Techno Nylon, Kanoko, Waffle, creating extremely hard wearing jerseys with very high abrasion resistance. This PU coating also reduces the water absorption of these fabrics by 50%, and therefore suits made
with Coraltex treated fabrics are easier to clean when soiled and also dry much quicker after use.
